Sorry for the long absence. Life can surprise you sometimes. My latest surprise was the death of my hard drive and the loss of many of my pictures. Thanks to the help of some good friends, Ed and Caroline, my computer lives again.
So, what's been happening in the last 6 months? I made a road trip in Fireball XL-5 that took me on a great circle by way of Louisville, KY., Memphis, Tn., Petal, MS., Gainsville, FL., Savannah, Ga., and back to Elizabeth City, NC., visiting friends and family along the way. Unfortunately the pictures of that trip were some of the ones that were lost. So you'll have to take my word for it. Once I got back to Ecity it was time to finish up with the engine work and get it back into Sea Otter. All in all I think I made a fairly thorough job of bringing the old MD7A back to life. The injectors were cleaned and tested, the head gasket replaced, valve work, starter rebuilt and injector pump rebuilt. She runs like a top now. Here's a pic of her being hoisted back on board.
