NOAA says that the first named storm of the year is on its way. Tropical storm Andrea is expected in a few days so its time to find shelter. Spring creek is the safe haven of choice but it is remote. First a quick stop to top off my fuel tank and then a brisk sail across Bay River. The wind is 10-15kts out of the East and the skies are clear. Seems strange to be heading for cover in this beautiful weather. Makes me think of how much more vulnerable sailors were before the advance weather warning we have today. A turn to the South takes me into Spring Creek. No lunar tides to deal with, just the change in water levels that comes from a major storm passing. I anchor in 8ft of water with plenty of swing room.
