Peddling around town

Spent the day tied up at Deaton's Boatyard. Once the breakfast dishes are dealt with. I'll make use of the bike to explore the town. Many cruising sailors take bikes along to help with the chore of packing groceries, fuel, water and a thousand other things that are often miles from the water front. Being able to explore a new town is a lot more fun on a bike. Plus it's quite a bit cooler when your making your own wind peddling along at 10-15kts. It can be burdensome to have to deal with a bike, especially on a small boat, but to me the pros definitely out weigh the cons. My bike is equipped with twin paniers and I routinely manage a full week of groceries in one trip. I'll need to leave Deaton's tonight but the wind has been blowing like stink all day. I'd hoped it would quiet down by evening and I could make the Neuse River crossing but no joy. Looks like I'll be relocating up one of the Creeks near the towns main harbor.
