We were raised by the sound of large engines nearby. A quick look out the window showed a large research vessel's bow very very close! We were anchored in the bay, but visibility was terrible with a heavy mist. Here is a photo of the boat that just barely missed us..
Don't let the size of the photo fool you, this beast was REALLY nearby when we too that photo, had just passed us.

This was one of the most enjoyable parts of summer. We left Sea Quell at anchor in Friday Harbor, and sailed Morning Star to Deer Harbor.
It was a blast being crew on Morning Star, and we enjoyed using the light winds as we found our way through the islands of Wasp Passage.

After Indian cove, we were back to Friday Harbor. Here is a great photo of Sea Quell and Morning Star at anchor. Morning Star looks great with her sails flaked properly.
