Arriving in Antiqua
30 May 2013 | Eastern Caribbean
We ended up staying there for over a week and then we said our goodbyes to the other 2 boats. They left for St. Martin and we sailed overnight to Antiqua. It has been on our bucket list for years and we finally got there. Windlass is putting their boat on the hard and heading back to St. Pete and Field Trip will meet us further on down island. We have now been in Antiqua for over 3 weeks because of weather. We have loved sailing into the many harbors and could probably stay all season but we really wanted to go south. Antiqua is also a rich island. Every harbor has these huge fancy homes on the hill sides with magnificent landscapes. Flowers everywhere and really green lush mountainsides. I can see why this island is so popular for tourist. Harry’s ankle is healing slowly and he is really being a trooper. It has been over 4 weeks and it is still swollen but not much pain. He has hiked with me 4 times up 4 different very high hills. One day we actually hiked for 4 hours and he did great. Antiqua is full of hills and small mountains, great for exploring. Snorkeling has been fun as well but not as exciting as the BVI’s for seeing fish.
