The Trip to Kauai!

Day 4

Day 4

All is well.

I am running under spinnaker right now and the boat is doing very well. We have been doing half wind speed or better (this is very good for a large displacement sailboat). The air is very light, the entire fleet is caught up in this wayward high pressure system. The battle of both extremes!

I saw an albatross yesterday. Absolutely beautiful birds! They basically control the wind. I looked at her with such envy.

Today for lunch I had the seafood and sausage jambalaya. Wow, super yummy! I feel so spoiled eating like a King in the middle of the Pacific. Thanks Chef!

I bailed out about 8 gallons of water from around the boat, leftover from the first three days. The other skipper reports are just now coming in. They report the same rough conditions as I went through. In fact, a wind speed of 57 knots was reported! No tankers, no ships, no nothing, just me in my little world out here.
