it started with the most amazing rainbow i have ever seen i believe although they are all amazing:)it was almost like a huge gate in front of us, very bright and at times double! than as i had my lunch later on which consisted of carrot, cream cheese and cornthins. each and everyday carrots ...at least one, for about a month or more. i am turning into a rabbit with slightly yellow skin, it is just lacking that i start to dig holes in the ground;) since its steel and no soft mother earth it is too difficult. hahaha! since darwin there is no other vegetable available. way tooo expensive; we bought the last cucumber in x-mas island for four dollar! so yea slowly getting sick of it but i am still happy that there is some fresh food at least; well as i was eating my carrot there was a banging noise and a desperate sounding voice from juergen out of the cockpit. so we all went up and the main sail had broken of the eyelid of the 2nd reef. oh nooooo! at least we can still use the 3rd reef but still another thing to repair and it will slow us down a bit too! jea thats the news for today and in between it did clear up a bit and there was a beautiful sunset with the the clouds being lid orange and pink by the suns last rays! now its rather grey again and the wind has increased. we are getting a shower splashing in the cockpit every now and than and high waves rocking the boat which is rather exciting than annoying when you are outside on watch .... sooo here the promised 'poem'
when the starry sky in front of your window turns into a white sail and your bed does not stop swaying, the shower in the middle of the day tastes salty out of a black bucket and leaves you with blue marks when cooking dinner turns into an act of balance and the plastic pots roll of the benches afterwards. when you unexpectedly get washed with all your clothes from the spray or flying fishes land in your cup of coffee. when you can watch the bad weather clouds pass by or draw over you when the sea mirrors the sun golden and the moon reflects silvern on the water when you fee free by the sight of the open space and are still captured when the wind blows away your thoughts and you pull the steering wheel against him well ... than than you exist with in the widen of an ocean that rhythmically carries you, silently cradles you, ear piercingly slides you through the flood and if you put in the right course it takes you all the way home, the wide deep ocean that loves and cradles you like the hand its surrounded by!
