Ugh. School. Tomorrow. Marine is lucky. She starts a day after me. I'm going to a private school, which means a kilt, and for those of you who know me well enough, you should know that me+kilt/open-bottom-dress-thingy=bad combo. But at least I don't have to stress much over what I will wear in the morning.. not that I normally stress over it, which is kinda obvious. I was reading the blogs of some of our friends, and some have continued on south, or across the pond. Meander, an Australian boat we met in FL is in Europe, And also Migo, another kid boat, is down in South America, from what their last blog entry says. It's nice to have a link to that old life, even if it makes me sad...lol.. Maybe we will make it to Europe.. buy a canal boat there, and do the canals in France. Hoping we will! Next year though :( ... ... ... Wishing I was on the boat, or w/ some of our friends from away!!!!!

It's been a while.. more like a year... oops. Well... skiing was fun, and sailing was painful, epecially when 420 classes started in April. It was fun though. I got my first job teaching skiing at Wentworth, to little kids. All I really had to do was pick up any kid that fell over. Fuuuun. I went down to Baltimore to go see Meg, from Wind of Peace, since stuff at home wasn't too great. Long story made short, my mum had cancer, was operated on and didn't need chimotherapy (thank god). Once she was entirely better, we went to Thailand, Cambodia and Laos for three and a half weeks, and stayed with some friends there. If you want to see pics, contact us... even though most of them are on our friend's computer, since ours is pretty much dead. School was awful. I really didn't like it, so this year I'm going to a new school, and really looking forward to it.
I got back to diving, and I was so rusty. I could hardly do any of my list on one meter, and I landed on my back several times. At least it was better than my failed attempts at my front one and a half off the boat. That was apinful, and hard, since you had to wait for the side of the boat you were going off of to be the highest. Ow. Anyway. That's behind me. I now have a platform list, which I compete. I don't have any off of the seven or ten meter, but I hope to soon. AT least the seven meter. Right now, ten isn't really appealing. It looks more painful than anything.
THis summer I sailed optis on the RNSYS race team, which was a lot of fun, besides the fact that sailing seems to be practiced more by guys tha girls, meaning tha once again, like last summer, I was stuck with boys. Not quite as many, though. At least Caroline was on the team. It's nice to know that it's not unnatural to want to shower at least once a week. Sailing was pretty good, considering that I didn't train at all for the first bit of summer since I was sick. I had mono, but I got off lightly. Only a month and half of it. It still sucked. I would go to bed at nine, and crawl out at eleven the next day, and still be exhausted. Not fun. I had been going to sail 420s this summer, but decided not to, since you can onlly sail optis for so long, and I'm light for a 420. I weigh 115lbs, which would be good for light air.. but... a lot of it is heavy. Then I go into opti, and all i get is light air, which sucks. A lot.
Right now there is a hurricane headed for us. Don't know where it will hit though. Everyone is saying different stuff. Some wbs are saying that it will be a direct hit on HFX, while others are saying that it will be off by quite a bit. So I guess you should expect the worse.
Canada Games are on now. When the diving came to HFX (they have no platform boards in P.E.I.) I helped out. Some of thee divers were insane. There was this on kid, C.J. Moore, who was somewhere around twelve years old doing dives off the ten meter, putting my "hard" dives off five meter to shame... He came in fourth. Jealous!!
This year we did an ocean race. We did the Marblehead to Halifax oc ean race. I was the youngest to do it this year. I beat the second youngest by a year and a half. That trip was so much fun, but scary. We did an all women's crew. There were eight of us. My mum, Betty-Ann, Kathy, Ann, Candace (my cousin), Jane (who is doing a leg of the round the world clipper race), Paula, and then there's me. It was sort of like having seven mothers on a forty footer. At least they let me do pretty much whatever when we were in Marblehead. The racing conditions sucked a whole lot, since our boat is a heavy air boat, and would have been perfect for the race, had there been wind. Obviously, there wasn't. So we dropped out. At least we weren't the only ones. It was a bit disappointing though, since we were the only all-female crew to do the the race this year, and only the third one to ever do it. One of the other all female crews had Candace's mother on board.
Since then , not much has gone on. Marine went away to Quebec for a week to go to camp, all alone, for the first time, and she loved it. I did sailing non-stop, and right now I would be in Kingston doing CORK, but it's nice to have a social life, which I don't tend to have in the summers. Or winters. Maybe i should cut back on the sports... just a bit... Especially since they all cost too much... Also I did a bit of Chester Race week on Martin Karlesen's boat. We were going to do it, but we didn't have any crew because they were all on his boat!
Summer has been pretty busy. But I guess it's ok!

Hi.
I think that I'm getting used to life back at home but... I still don't want to be in one spot for long. I like travelling too much to never leave NS again...
It's late october and I'm still sailing! So much for not wanting to set foot on a boat again! I gave up on trying to resist the pull of the ocean, but that was impossible, seeing as I had to do racing the whole summer, which turned out fun, apart from that annoying fact that I was stuck with a bunch of rowdy boys for two months!
If I had to go again, I would, but I definitely wouldn't go right now! Mum and Dad are planning our next trip... Europe. I'll be taking the plane, so don't ask me how I'm getting there! Sailing across the atlantic right now is not on my list of must do things! Right now, I just want to stay settled for a bit, then maybe we'll go.

Missing the Bahamas, DR and Turks and Caicos... Too cold here..
