Fast Sailing
07 November 2007 | Point Lookout State Park Marina
Steve/Mostly clear, wind NW 20+kts, 11C
What a sailing day, perfect conditions for a fast reach down the Chesapeake! Judy and I had a little competition going to see who could get the best speed, and we tied at 8.8 knots, averaging 7.5 knots on the day. Just at sunset, we tucked into Point Lookout, a state park that was closed for the season, coming alongside at the vacated tour boat dock. Would that fair winds like today's stuck with us the whole way!
