Merry Christmas

Today is a day of mixed emotions...happy that Santa managed to land on the beach (without being chased off by Marina Management) and dinghy out to Semper V, but also more than just a little homesick. Our first Christmas away from home, and our thoughts are with family and friends, and thinking about skiing and playing in the snow, of which there has been more than usual! The girls are particularly underwhelmed by the occasion, and as we sit in 29C heat and swim in 25C water, as nice as it sounds, we are definitely a four-seasons family, and when we hear CBC news tell us of yet another snow storm somewhere in Canada it feels like salt being rubbed into the wounds!
The girls have some new toys, such as paddle racquets and balls, and a glass-bottomed bucket, otherwise known as a "Bahamian TV".
A large group of cruisers booked reservations for Christmas dinner at the Marina, and we enjoyed a huge meal of turkey and prime rib with all the fixings. If it hadn't been for the cruisers the Club would have been deserted! We dinghied back to the boat completely stuffed, but wishing we were home!
