We woke up this morning unsure of what our plans would be, but of the overall feeling that it was time to move on. After a quick check with our companions in Mya 1, Whisper (from St. John's, Newfoundland) and Sea Fox X, we decided to follow in Fiere Allure's and Kerguelen's tracks and head to Nassau. With the wind forecast for southerly, we would be close hauled on a SE course for New Providence, but seas were calm, and George in Mya 1 was particularly happy to get out of Chub Cay and onto Nassau where he would be able to access some mechanic service to look at his engine. After we towed Mya 1 out of the marina, we enjoyed several hours of sailing, and I was able to devote some time to working on a piece of driftwood that the girls had collected off a beach a while back somewhere along the ICW. By 3pm the wind was fading, and with 15 miles left to go to Nassau harbour's entrance, we radioed Mya 1 and headed back to take them in tow. Four hours later we negotiated the entrance to Nassau in the dark, and Ed in Sea Fox X's dinghy came out to show us the way to the marina where a slips had been arranged for us. The strong current that flows through Nassau Harbour made the alongside with Mya 1 under tow a little more interesting than might otherwise have been the case, but we made it without incident, and were very pleased to be tucked in at a safe marina where hot showers and laundry machines awaited!
