Homecoming
27 January 2008 | George Town
Steve/cold front approaching
We had a combined birthday bash on the beach today for Steph and her friend Meghan, with plenty of cake and brownies and, most important, kids! We met up with several other family cruisers, and it was very satisfying to see a gaggle of kids romping around having a good time. The day was capped off with the early arrival of Judy after her ten days in Halifax, and she made it in to George Town hours ahead of another cold front and its strong northerly winds. The girls were ready with a "Welcome Home Mama" banner. What followed was essentially a second Christmas as Judy unpacked all the goodies she had brought from Halifax! Books and sweets and clothes for the girls, a wetsuit and snorkel for me, a new set of oars for the dinghy and a pile of stuff for the boat. The final act of the evening was birthday cake and candles for Stephanie.... It's great to be together again!
