There is tons of urban art in Sydney.

Up on the windblown tower of the Sydney Harbor Bridge-- it was so windy that I had alot more hair before I got to the top. Look at the boat traffic down in the harbor--we are glad we took our Aussie friends advice and left Serenity back up in Bundaberg.

11-26-2011 We got to sleep in today--yeah! We are just so tired from hiking all around town. After our Starbucks fix we took the water ferry over to the Circular Quay area of downtown Sydney. We walked through the 'Rocks' area which has numerous old buildings as well as cool shops, open air market, and small restaurants. The Rocks has the oldest building still standing in Sydney--the Cadman Cottage which was built in 1861. The city moved the commercial container docks to Botany Bay Harbor and many of the Sydney Harbor (which is actually called Jackson Harbour by the locals) warehouses have been renovated into restaurants on the bottom floor and apartments on the second floor--very cool. We walked the entire length of the Sydney Harbor Bridge and went up the North Tower. The North Tower presents alot of the history of the bridge as well as spectacular views of the Opera House and the harbor. We were blessed with blue skies today-- we have had three days of rain. On our way back to the ferry we stopped for a beer at a mimic HofBrau House-- good beer and pretzels ( I did not try the foam Chris--sorry). After taking the ferry back to our room which is on the 14th floor, we had a wonderful view of the Darling Harbor parade of lights and fireworks show--everyday is an adventure. Aussie wrd for the day: Bonzer--something that is great, fantastic.

One of the best ways to see the Sydney Harbor Bridge is on a harbor ferry--it is also cheap!

11-25-2011 Sydney is so cool! Today, Sherry went to get her hair 'done' and I walked back to the "Lappy King" as my laptop died again. After we both got back we walked over to Starbucks for a coffee and a cookie. That night we went to the Capitol Theater and saw a live production of Mary Poppins. Our taxi driver who drove us in from the airport had recommended Mary Poppins. It was one of the best theater productions I have seen. The Capitol Theater was an older theater that had been renovated -- but it still had it's 'grand' character. It was a night to remember. Aussie Word for the day: Drongo - a worthless or stupid person.
