Back to Benidorm

Tuesday
There was quite a bit of cloud about when we left for a last visit to Benidorm – so we were totally overdressed for what turned out to be the hottest day of the year so far. The sunbeds were out on the beach and the average age of the promenaders had dropped by about 30 years since out last visit.
Lobster skin was everywhere. Bare chests and boob tubes were the order of the day, any straps pushed off the shoulders to avoid those annoying white marks. Everyone seemed out to catch a few rays. The pensioners were still exercising on the beach, although now in bikinis (yes, really). The invalid ‘scooters’, however, seemed to be occupied by a younger generation. We had to laugh at the ‘tandem’ version and they seem to be the vehicle of choice for the holiday reps. Only in Benidorm.
