Major Attractions: Free marina for one week. Close to Universal Studios if you're missing the U.S. Very close to Shinishinomiya can be used for a weekend break. Places to visit are Osaka Aquarium "KAIYUKAN", Suntory Museum, Osaka Maritime Museum "NANIWA NO UMI NO JIKUKAN", Wine Museum Osaka "FUREAI MINATO-KAN".
Nearest Port of Entry: Osaka.
Formalities Arrival: Report to Hitoshi Kita. He will arrange for the appropriate authorities.

Anchorage Options: None
Yacht Club Facilities: Shower facilities, toilets, lockers, meeting areas, tennis courts.
Haulout Facilities: Not really. Go to Shin Nishinomiya Yacht Harbour.
Trades: Engine repairs and some fiberglass.

Water: Available at the pier.
Fuel: Uncertain. Had no need.
LPG: Available, however, non Japanese tanks are difficult to refill due to Government safety regulations. Ocassionally, some gas resellers will fill your tank, especially if it is a small family owned establishment.
Marine Vendors: Unknown
ATMs: As always the most efficient way to get money from your overseas account in Japan is through the Post Office system of ATMs. The Konohana Post Office is at 2-1-9, Kasugadekita.
Shops & Markets: There are a large variety of stores in Konohana, but the focus of any shopping here is Central Osaka where you can find everything (providing you can make yourself understood). A must place to visit is the 7 storey Yodobashi Electronics and electrical store. Here you'll find tomorrow's gadgets.
Postal Services: The Konohana Post Office is at 2-1-9, Kasugadekita.
Hotels & Restaurants: There is a restaurant on the premises. A large choice of restaurants and hotels is available on the way to and at Konohana.
Internet/Phones: See "All about the Internet in Japan" on this Blog. The nearest free wifi is at Simple Heart Hotel Osaka, Konohana-Ku,
Laundry Services: None found near the marina.
Air/Sea/Road Transport: a blast from the past, the Tempozan Ferry originating in the late Meiji Period, connects Sakurajima in Konohana-ku with Tempozan (Chikko 3 chome) in Minato-ku. At one time there were up to ten ferries operating within the ward along the Ajigawa River, but currently only one ferry remains at Tempozan. The ferry service operates every 15mins to 30mins from 6:00am to approximately 8:00pm daily. Bus No.59 will take you to Konohama and the railway station.
Special Notes: This marina can become quite swelly in southerlies. One week free to foreign visitors.
Other Information: Osaka Hokko Yacht Club was established in 1988, one year after the opening of Osaka Hokko Yacht Harbor, the only yacht harbor in the City of Osaka. As of January 1, 2005, 117 members are registered. The club supports the Melbourne/Osaka double- handed yacht race which is held every four years.
