Major Attractions: Rest stop if en route through Seto Naikai.
Nearest Port of Entry: Ube.
Formalities Arrival: Prior permission should have been sought from the Ministry of Lands to enter the harbor. On arrival call Coast Guard on VHF16. Unlikely they will answer as few speak English. This is a closed port.
Formalities Departure: Advise Customs and provide a General Declaration (Departure)
Immigration: Available in Tokuyama

Coast Guard: Available in Tokuyama
Quarantine: Available in Tokuyama
Harbour master: Not required to visit
Berthing Mooring Options: Tokumari Marina, , Tokuyama, 745-003, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Tel: 0834-25-0865 Fax: 0834-25-0881, Showers available but not much else.
Anchorage Options: You may anchor just outside the marina in the little cove
Yacht Club Facilities: None available
Haulout Facilities: None for cruising yachts.
Trades: Mechanical Repairs at the marina.

Water: On the marina
Fuel: Available through the marina office
LPG: Available, however, non Japanese tanks are difficult to refill due to Government safety regulations. Ocassionally, some gas resellers will fill your tank, especially if it is a small family owned establishment.
Marine Vendors: Not available. A few parts are available through marina office.
ATMs: As always the most efficient way to get money from your overseas account in Japan is through the Post Office system of ATMs.
Shops & Markets: There are supermarkets and store in the area around Tokuyama station but nothing available near the marina.
Postal Services: Located near Tokuyama Station some 20 minutes by car.
Hotels & Restaurants: There are a couple of small local restaurants some 25 minutes walk away. In Tokuyama city there is a large range of hotels and restaurants.
Internet/Phones: See "All about the Internet in Japan" on this Blog. International coin and card 'phones are available in office. Internet at Tokuyama Daiichi Hotel Lobby, Syunan-City,Yamaguchi-ken, Tel: 0834-22-5522.
Laundry Services: None
Air/Sea/Road Transport: There are no bus services from the marina. You are at the mercy of others.
Special Notes: Extensive medical services are available in Tokuyama city.
Other Information: This is the most ricketty marina that we've seen in many years. It is dangerous in anything but calm conditions. The overabundance of smokestacks and factories in the Tokuyama area can, at first sight, be overwhelming but with time, it is possible to come to love this interesting and quaint little city!
