Sailnet reunion Cambridge 2015
07/28/2015

Shortly after arriving I got on the dink and headed towards the marina dinghy dock. Walked over to Snappers where I met Mark the Australian we met in KW and the Skipper of Reboot, a retired Navy captain. After a couple of drinks we went to Stoked for some pizza and beer. Ended up returning back to Skalliwag at 2300. Shower and hit the bunk after a long day !

Sailnet reunion Cambridge 2015

Castoff from Solomons at 0800 for the Sailnet reunion in Cambrige. Forecast was for 5-10 kts from the north. I was expecting having to motor the entire way on the rhomline. A six hr trip while towing the dink. I was doing about 5 kts. The wind started to freshen and my SOG kept dropping. Ended up raising sail, shutting down the engine and tack north. But when I got close to the entrance to the choptank I ended up having to restart the engine with the wind on the nose. Once I got into the choptank I had a better wind angle and was able to sail the rest of the way to Cambridge. It took a total of 10 hrs! I anchored in front of the town Marina next to Reboot.

I arrived at Zahnisers in Solomons around 1500. The swells during these two days sailing up the Bay were the highlight of the tarp for me. Swells as you made the turn into the Putuxent were like something you would see out in the middle of the Atlantic. I'm glad I always went with them!
