Castoff from Solomons at 0800 for the Sailnet reunion in Cambrige. Forecast was for 5-10 kts from the north. I was expecting having to motor the entire way on the rhomline. A six hr trip while towing the dink. I was doing about 5 kts. The wind started to freshen and my SOG kept dropping. Ended up raising sail, shutting down the engine and tack north. But when I got close to the entrance to the choptank I ended up having to restart the engine with the wind on the nose. Once I got into the choptank I had a better wind angle and was able to sail the rest of the way to Cambridge. It took a total of 10 hrs! I anchored in front of the town Marina next to Reboot.
