Closer to home

Beautiful sailing with wind from the west brought us south to Jackson Creek on the Piankatank River, where the predicted south winds for tomorrow should make for an easy ride home.

Here is Charm tacking up the Rappahannock. (Sorry about the picture quality - boats are farther away than they appear).

House for sale

Three bedrooms, 1 bath furnished waterfront home. The Smith Point lighthouse is for sale for $500K.

We had a brisk and bumpy downwind sail under smallcraft advisories from St. Michaels, MD to Solomons, MD and then from Solomons, MD to Reedville, VA. Even got some practice double-reefing. We're still a little rusty doing things on the boat but we're getting better.

Ah, the ultimate "get away from it all" home. Very cool.
Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum
05/09/2012, St. Michaels, MD

It was a rainy day, so it was a good day for going to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Some of the exhibits were closed but there was plenty to see and we stayed until it closed. For extra entertainment, a crane was there to step a wooden mast for the 1888 classic racing yacht Elf.
