More rain

31 May 2016 | Avon, NC
There were a couple of bad days in the forecast so we picked what we thought was the worst day, Sunday, to sit at anchor at Cedar Island. After a huge deluge in the morning the day turned surprisingly beautiful so we enjoyed relaxing and reading books in the sunny cockpit. Monday, Memorial Day, we moved on to Avon on NC's Outer Banks and were sailing and motor sailing in rain almost the entire way. Oh well, that's life on a boat.

We had a great dinner with friends at a sound-side beach house after using google maps satellite view to navigate the abandoned Avon channel. After a few false starts we managed to anchor in 6' of water a mile and a half from the house and dinghied in for the fun.

This is what the sky looked like this morning when we left to head north.
