A soft bed in St. Augustine

30 March 2014 | St. Augustine, FL
milepost 778
After the cold front passed Titusville, we left the life of leisure in the marina and knocked off 50 miles to Daytona Beach where we anchored in our favorite spot south of Memorial Bridge. We must be doing something right because the next day we got up early and did the 50 miles to St. Augustine with a flood tide pushing us north and then an ebb tide pulling us past Matanzas inlet and on to St. Augustine. A southeast breeze forecast to be 10-15 knots turned into 20-25 with gusts to 30 just ahead of some bad weather. Luckily the wind was pushing us in the right direction. We got to St. Augustine in time to drive to Green Cove Springs to pick up our mail.

Sure is nice to sleep in a bed that isn't moving or bouncing here at the house. We'll continue north again on Tuesday and hope that winter is almost over north of Florida.
