Cold fronts
17 November 2008 | Bear Creek, Bay River, NC
The cold front that went through Saturday night gave us sunny skies and brisk winds for sailing. We left Elizabeth City and had an exciting sail down the Pasquotank River, across Albemarle Sound, and up the Alligator River in 20 knot winds. We anchored at the start of the start of the Alligator-Pungo Canal (milepost 104). No cell service, no internet, and no TV so we relaxed with a book, the last of our first box of wine and homemade soup for dinner (many thanks to Sue and Rick).
Today, we finished the 20+ mile long canal and are anchored in a protected creek near Pamlico Sound. More cold fronts and even gale warnings are predicted starting tomorrow so maybe we'll have more excitement.
