Catching up
07 February 2008 | Santiago Bay-Manzanillo
Mike & Julie
When we last posted to the blog we had completed a lovley stay in Santiago Bay and were headed back up to Barra de Navidad. We only spent a couple of days in Barra, just lig enough to get water and stock up on groceries. On the 19th we moved back up to Tenacatita for a week of bocci ball and swimming. We wanted to be back in Barra for Super Bowl Sunday so we left on the 30th. We had originally planed to begin heading back to Mazatlan after the big game but we received an email from Del Mar that said my start week could be delayed an extra week. Yahoo! One more week to have fun. We loaded up and headed back to Santiago Bay. We had a wonderful sail down here, 20 -25 knots from astern and mild seas. It was really great to sail. You do a lot of motoring down here. The wind is usually light from the North West so when you are going South there is just not enough to sail. We just returned from a day ashore with our friends Stan and MJ who we met in 2004. After cruising a couple of years they decided that they weren't seeing enough of Mexico so the sold their boat and bought a house here in Manzanillo. When they finish remodeling they plan on exploring more of Mexico and Central America. What a life!
