Hola: Im feeling better since my crash into gravel while jogging. The muscle that was torn in my chest is getting better and thank God, I didn't break any fingers even though I got lost of awful torn places on my hands and wrists.

I am somtimes refered to as "Perkins" or "Vroom Vroom" or sometimes when I just dont feel like working, Mike and Julie call me very bad names!! But mostly I am refered to as "The Beast" and I thought I would give Julie and Mike a thrill. After they left me for 6 months, I started up on the first try and even did my impression of purring like a kitten. Yeah!!

The Yanmister (Yanmar 3HMF, right across the aisle from you in Marina Mazatlan) thought he heard a fellow purr-er. Don't worry, it's more fun to start up and purr, but only make your owner THINK your slipping into reverse... that makes for great comedy while docking in wind :)

Several years ago the Mexican Goverment made the stretch of road between the boarder at Nogalas and Guaymas, Sonora a vehicle permit free zone If you travel any further you need to get a Temporary Import for your car. It takes about 30 minuets to get and cost about $30 bucks. There is quite a large gringo population in San Carlos just North of Guaymas so this is a major comvience for them. We never thought is was a big deal.

Told ya! You just cant keep the van empty for long. We are leaving in the morning for Mazatlan. It's a 3 day drive stoping in Tucson and San Carlos. The last leg from San Carlos to Mazatlan is the worst. 500 miles of hot and flat. Did I mention that we dont have AC in the Van?

Have a good look. You won't see this again. What is it? Why, its an empty van. Our trusty Dodge Caravan nicknamed Morrison (get it, Van Morrison) is eargerly awaiting a full load of stuff. All summer long we have been ordering more stuff to take to the boat. Sometimes the pile seems larger than the entire van. Today we had a test fitting and found that we were going to need to either leave something at home or do a better job of packing. Repacking won out. We spent the morning consolidating boxes and ended up with some more room. Yea! We can get more junk now.
Happily unemployed

Closing Day at Del Mar was September 3rd and Julie and I are now happily unemployed. We are busy getting all of our stuff togather for our yearly pilgrimage to Mazatlan. Its going to be way too hot when we get there but I'm sure that the Pacificos will be ice cold.
