Nothing new here

From Tortugal Marina
Well, given that it's been raining for oh, I can't even remember how many days now, there's not much new to report. It's been a little cooler which is nice, but we can't get anything done on the boat that needs doing since it's always too wet for any varnish or paint to dry properly. Things are supposed to improve tomorrow.

So, we've been catching up with friends here, running or walking each day, reading our cruising guides, making spanish flash cards, eating lots of homemade guacamole (avacados are cheap here right now), baking bread, etc. We also cooked our turkey last night since we wanted our own little Thanksgiving dinner complete with leftovers. But we cooked an 11.5 pound turkey, which isn't exactly small- it barely fit into our oven. But it was delicious and now we're set with plenty of turkey for other recipes, not to mention, a repeat of last night's dinner for tonight!

On Thursday, we're planning to have dinner here at the marina with the rest of the gang. Today we're headed over to a neighboring marina for lunch since the band we like from Antigua is putting on a special concert here on the river. And hopefully Friday, we'll head to Tikal for a few days with two other couples. Since there's 6 of us, we think we'll rent a van so that'll save us from the whole bus ordeal. We're looking forward to finally seeing Tikal.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. We'll be thinking of our friends and loved ones. We miss you all!
