Marcia (Juniata), Meri (Windfall), and I went to town for groceries and I need to try and find a PCMCIA card that has USB ports for the computer so we headed off to Radio Shack which is in the La Gran Plaza. The La Gran Plaza is a mall. We walked in and to our surprise we looked at each other and asked "Where are we?". It was a mall just like one anywhere in the US complete with large Christmas trees and decorations. It was hard to believe that we were in a third world country. We found the Radio Shack and no joy. We wandered over to Sam's Club because it was right next door and took a walk around in there looking for the Items we needed and did not find anything we had to have. On the way out we stopped at the food court and Marcia and I had a hot dog. After enjoying the hot dog and each others company we meandered over to "Mega" the big grocery store. You start on the bottom floor and get your shopping cart and go up the escalator to the second floor. The escalator does not have steps it is flat and has grooves so the shopping cart wheels lock in and you can actually take your hands off the cart and it will ride up the escalator all on its own. Pretty cool.

Now it is time to pack the groceries and catch a bus back to the marina. Reminder to self: take the rolling luggage next time. We had such a wonderful day. We really need to do more girl's day out.
