Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. - Mark Twain

Back in the USA

Mike
Well we got back to the US yesterday afternoon. We left Green Turtle Cay wed at 7am saile all day and all night across the Little Bahama Bank and across the Gulf Stream yesterday arriveing in Ft Pierce at 3pm. 160+miles in 32 hrs needles to say I was pretty tired and crashed at 4 just after we anchored. The crossing was very good we sailed the first 110 miles then I had to run the engine to charge the batteries and decided to keep it going for the last 50 miles so we could get in a little earlier as I said I was tired and every hour earlier we go in was another hour of sleep I could get. We also got boarded by Customs and Border protection about 20 miles out. They were very nice they pulled up beside us asked us a few questions then asked us to come aboard to check our paperwork. I kept the boat on autopilot and one officer came across which is not an easy task with two moving boats in three foot seas the boats never even touched. It took maybee twenty minutes but we lost no time Today we moved up to Vero Beach City Marina to treat ourselves to unlimited hot water showers. We do have hot showers on the boat but we dont have unlimed water as I need to carry our water in 5 gal jugs in the dingy to the boat and we only carry 90 galons onboard so we try to conserve. So we will start heading north in a few days but I hear its still cold up there so we will see how fast we move. Sorry for no new pictures but i have ben bloging with our Kindle which you cant load pics on but we will post some soon.
