Life at Shelter bay
04 February 2017
Now it is for real - it is 5 o'clock somewhere!!
We began to get ensconced in the life at the marina and could see why some people here have been here for over a year. With a social director, there was always something different to do to keep us busy. We mostly enjoyed the movie nights twice a week and I even got to win some prizes at the weekly Bingo. Walks, swimming, potlucks, and BBQ’s kept us amused while we waited for the wind to become more sailing friendly. We decided to get measured for our canal crossing here as it was a reasonably easy place to get it done and get it out of the way. We paid our money (a lot) and got our Ship Identification Number and a quick rundown of the process. But it was eventually time to move on. We stayed till the wind dropped enough for us to get out of the slip safely and get on our way to the San Blas. Finally heading to the area well known among cruisers.
