Bora Bora

We managed to get a Mooring at the new MaiKai Yacht club and enjoyed happy hour with Neil and Gillian from Silver Lining. We topped up on diesel, caught up on some of the routine maintenance, topped up the pantry in preparation for leaving in a few days. Small things like finding leaking water pump on our new generator while doing the oil change was a little depressing. Given the generator was new last year, we had not yet accumulated some spares but our onboard MacGyver was able to fix the pump with some left over spares from the last generator so all was well there. He replaced the brushes in the autopilot, fixed our leaking dinghy and changed out a near new alternator that quit on us. It seems at times, that having new and good quality is no guarantee these days. We decided to do checkout and fresh food shop on Monday but unfortunately it was raining. It made our last day miserable, as the rain did not stop all day. Not the usual tropical downpour that usually disappears in a half hour or so. But a few wet dinghy rides to town and back and we had as much fresh food as we could find and our departing paperwork. We let go the drifting mooring we were on Tuesday morning and head west for our first stop - Mopelia.
