Voyage of the Solstice
Start of Leg 3 Baja Ha-Ha
A little hazy but warm and comfortable
11/07/2007, Bahia Santa Maria, Baja California

Left for CSL early this day. Winslow, Sedona Lynda and Peter aboard. Santa Maria was very nice and would be a good place to return. I was humbled by the surf and trying to get the dingy into shore without wmbarrassing myself or chopping off fingers with the propeller. The dogs take all the wetness as great fun. Started out close to see the opening of Magdalena Bay. It is very impressive and would be a nice place to return. The dogs are finally getting their sea legs. They havve gone up to two days without going to the bathroom at all. That seems to be a typical problem with boats with dogs aboard in the fleet.

Finished Leg 2 of the Ha-Ha 2007
Warmer and calmer
11/03/2007, Bahia Santa Maria, Baja California

Now you're talkin. Finally the coats and warm clothes can come off. The water is beautiful, warm and clear. I really liked this place. Lynda and Peter aboard. Poor Peter stayed a little too late at the Ha-Ha dinner on shore. The waves got so big that the panga drivers would no longer take people to their boats. So he and 72 others had to spend the night on the beach the night before our departure for CSL. It did not seem like a very good experience for him. Rumors were that a wet t-shirt contest took place to help wile away the hours. We left early in the morning, motorsailing due to the light winds.

Start of Leg 2 Baja Ha-Ha
Less wind but lots of swell from a storm in the Pacific
11/03/2007, Turtle Bay, Baja California

All rested and ready to go! Water and air still a little cool.
