Escalation of Perception

We are so close now! It seems that the trades know this and are playing with us. Are wind has softened to about 10kn SE and where we were maintaining a pace of 7-9kn we are now slogging along at 5-7kn. We probably won't get there until late late Wednesday night or Thursday morning. We do have a full moon on Wednesday night which opens possibilities. I know the captain's against night anchoring, but I can't help imagining how fantastic it could be to drop anchor in Fatu Hiva with bright white lunar assistance.
We were discussing what the rest of the world does on a Sunday. Brunch, church, rest, war, picnics... We decided to participate in our own little way and didn't even have to put on our Sunday best as church came to us. It was everywhere we looked. Out here one can't help but be completely saturated in spirituality. This is nature at her most raw. Sailing the Pacific places us in a pure environment free from all distraction and highly conducive to meditation, contemplation, and transcendence of previous convictions. The isolation is therapeutic beyond belief. The American in me wants to market this
I said 'thank you' to my father. I can't remember the last time I verbally expressed gratitude for the opportunity he's given me. We are two extremely stubborn characters who virtually never back down from our individual convictions. Both of us feel as though our efforts are under appreciated by the other party. Being selfish is quite exhausting and, to tell you the truth, our arguments are chronically ridiculous. Well, we finally got off our high horses and admitted that we couldn't have done any of this with out one another. *exhale*
After breakfast we're going to put our reacher up on the port side where a halyard still exists. Wing winging it again!
Cheers to Sunday, that's my fun day Cass
