Look What we got!

Cass
How you like that big ol' big ol'? We caught him at sunset. I had already whipped up a wahoo curry for dinner, but am already licking my chops about sailfish and eggs for breakfast. Dad steaked it up and broke a hack saw in the process. Hopefully I can talk him into fixing that grill one of these first days.

The morning was spent in preparation for departure. We put the jib back up after having repairs done in the local sail loft. It had a 12" rip in the sunbrella reinforced area on the luff. When we got to Nuku we took the jib down to sew up the minor rip and noticed that stitching was beginning to fray over the entire sail.

We made some great friends of Aldebaran, an s/v full of young twenty-somethings traveling the world writing interactive educational material for kids. They have been a refreshing and interesting group that only reinforces that it takes all kinds. I hope we cross paths again.

My new art hasn't been doing so well. I got some dirt or something in it and it has been literally a pain in my ass for the past few days. I am healing fine once again but am becoming annoyed with having to pay constant attention to my rear end.

We have said goodbye to the Marquesas. These are beautiful islands and I highly recommend a visit should you be in the neighborhood. We are on our way to Takaroa of the Iles du Roi Georges in the Tuamotus. Amy and I are looking forward to clear water and much diving and snorkeling. Dad is anxious about the tricky approaches. Sounds as though I am about to spend a lot of time up the mast pointing out coral heads.

Cheers to the fish we finally landed after donating 5 lures Cass
