The European PSKmail HF SSB Radio email system is also starting to get very nicely organized. HF servers (nodes to the Internet), are up all over Europe and some show up in the USA as well.
The user software download is FREE and works on Windows, utilizing your laptop's sound card.

The development team is looking for suitable Ham stations to set up servers in Africa as well as other parts of the world.

Letter from Rolf Behnke DK4XI:

Dear Om `s and sailors,
We from INTERMAR, the German Maritime Mobile network have a software (pskmail coppy by PA0R), specially enhanced for sailors and written, which provides the opportunity to:
> APRS position report, short APRS emails (67 characters), APRS and send messages and receive broadcasts from pskmail server
Listen in (position reports of yachts, weather reports, soil analysis, news, etc.).
> Advantage of the system is that you qrv usually only on a Frquenz to be there with it.

Amateur Radio live

10147kHZ USB Dial (Center 10148kHz) is the worldwide PSK> APRS frequency on the number of servers are already qrv.

Thus, the global network is a success for all sailors, we are still looking Oms build a server on the PSK> APRS Random 10147kHZ Dial.
Of course it would be good if other frequencies are used for the transmission of bulletins. (80m, 40m, 20m)
We at INTERMAR will support you in building the server and the links to retrieve location broadcasts, weather reports etc are available.
Is required for a server:
1 Transceiver with 500Hz filter RX, TX 2.4 kHz SSB USB)
1 10Mhz (30m) Antenna
1 computer
1 pskmail Server software (See Appendix)
1 Sound Card Modem
Om the one set up each server, we put a sound card modem for free. Please report. Email: dl0ima@intermar-ev.de

Pskmail is no alternative to Winlink, but is intended as a supplement. It should not be used as a mail system for long emails, but to transmit information without brief Connect to a server and receive. (APRS-Digi functions) on shortwave
In particular, the possibility for SWL's, position reports from yachts, Wettertinformationen and news stands to receive from the program.

It would be wonderful if many Oms would find the help enlarge the network.

Please Informs all sailors who knows her about this new software.
