See this email by Susanne, N1QFE, on S/V Nehaj en route from Iceland to New Zealand.
Dear Sam,
I looked up in my log that you have been concerned and given me great
weather predictions since the 4th of December last year. For over two months
you did wonderful work for me and the world is a better one having people
like you.
My estimated arrival time in New Zealand was 19 days ago already, as I had
not anticipated such bad fouling of the hull. It is still over 800 miles
into Nelson and I have no idea how much longer I will need. The Tasman shows
lots of calms and indeed, I'm drifting and waiting for wind right now.
Motoring is very poor with the fouled prop.
I do feel embarrassed about my slow speed and therefore it is better to take
the burden from you. After all, there is one full ocean between us by now,
you've done much more than cover your home waters. Also, I have quite good
propagation on 10m for Pactor, where I'm able to down load the Grip files.
Please let me give you my warm greetings and a big thank-you, to you and to
Marijke. Hope to meet up one day
73/88
Susanne
