Waiting, Waiting

24 May 2017 | Nanimo Yacht Club - Nanaimo, BC
Steve / Sunny, cooler (63 degrees), and very windy
Just a quick update for those who might be wondering where we have been the last few days. The Georgia Strait has kicked up for the last two days with 25-40 kt gales, so we have sat out the mess here in Nanaimo. Fortunate for us, actually, because we discovered that the transmission shift cable was melted against the hot exhaust manifold and we couldn't reliably shift. The little marine store here in Nanaimo happened to have one that fit so we are all repaired and ready to go. The wind is expected to lay down tomorrow to a manageable 15 kt NW, so we should get a good sail with the sunny weather hanging in. Pender Harbor is the planned destination tomorrow and, if luck holds, Desolation Sound the next day, Friday.

Happy Birthday to Daughter Sara - hope it is a grand one.
