Circumnavigating Vancouver Island
08/03/2009

The west coast was remote and wild and an incredible place to be on a sailboat. We did it in about a month and felt like we were rushing at times so I would recommend 6 weeks. I would also recommend bringing kayaks because we really enjoyed ours for paddling around the little bays and inlets. We have over 500 pictures and I planned to put more up here, but I've run out of time as we are moving to Texas tomorrow. We plan to be back in the Gulf Islands next summer and maybe head up to Alaska at some point. We had to skimp on our visit to Barkley Sound so we hope to go back there sometime. What a beautiful place!

We had a b-day party for Rich on the boat and then went for a soak in the hot springs.

Hot Springs Cove

This is part of the mile and a half boardwalk/trail to the hot springs. We carved our boat name on one of the planks (it's tradition, not vandalism)

Yuquot

This is the beach on the west side of the village of Yuquot (really old town, totem poles, a warm lake we swam in) -I know, really great blogging
