Natalie is quickly acquiring the necessary skills for the sailing life.

Natalie at the helm crossing Haro Strait. It's so nice to get a break from steering now that she's around. Rich and I just lounge around all day long. ;)

We left Friday Harbor after a few days and cleared Canadian customs at South Pender Island, BC. We spent two nights here and it was not easy to leave the beautiful view from the resort's hot tub especially since the temperatures have been in the 40s at night.

We began our trip with friends in Everett, WA and their two little girls. Justin and Rich sailed the boat up to Friday Harbor (and if hypothetically the boat were to have gone aground briefly in my absence at the helm I'm sure I would not be one to like mention that on a blog or even bring it up in discussions, I'm sure) and Iva and I brought the kids by ferry. We all reunited and had a blast hanging out in the sunshine and introducing the little girls to the one-eyed, overfed seal named Popeye who lives in the marina.
