First, an intro

First blog entry...ever, so this is just a test (and an intro, I guess)...the picture here is of me (Heidi) and Rich, married 9 years and sailing together for 3. We live in Seattle, but are moving (back) to Texas in August after we spend June and July aboard our Bristol Channel Cutter sailboat Star Rover. We have been sailing around the San Juan (WA) and Gulf Islands (Canada) for the past few years and love it here, although on those chilly July days we often mention how 'interesting' it would be to be in the tropics. We would miss the snowcapped mountains in the distance, though.
Our plan is to spend the next few summers cruising here and then, one day, sail out through the Strait of Juan de Fuca (the water that separates Canada and Washington state) and sail down the coast or across the Pacific. We don't have any set plans, but dreaming about traveling on Star Rover is one of our favorite hobbies.
