Rewind - Laser 5000 EuroCup 1996

Sail.tv has the footage of the 1996 EuroCup Garda leg available at the moment. Although it focuses on the battle for podium places, myself and Dan Vincent - weekend warriors - can be fleetingly glimpsed in two places sailing the blue GBR5120. Here ducking Chris Burrough prior to seeing him sail off into the distance, again.

Coming Soon: Musto Skiff Worlds

With a nasty forcast for the Hauraki Gulf on Sunday it looks like I have one day left to practice for the Musto Skiff Worlds, which start on Tuesday 19 June at Malcesine, Lake Garda.

Champagne Conditions

Steamy and crew arrived safely in Falmouth at 4am on Thursday 26 May. We tied up alongside an RNLI Lifeboat, hopefully the only time we will be this close to one.

90 boats are entered so far and I haven't done a big fleet race for years. Frankly I feel under prepared!

Steamy back in Hamble

After a fast-paced 18 month circumnavigation, Steamy is back home in The Hamble.

Thanks to everyone who has sailed with me and made the trip such a great experience. See Team Steamy on www.firekart.com.

I hope to get a race crew together for remains of the summer series and for the Hamble Winter Series. If you are interested in crewing on Steamy Windows, please also see www.firekart.com.

Future plans involve trading comfort for pace and sharing something Cork 1720-like for Solent racing. The RS600 goes back on the water at Hamble River Sailing Club for some practice before trading for a Musto Skiff or RS700.

See www.firekart.com for latest.

By 8am all the champagne was gone and we all went back to bed.

Looks like we'll be back in the Solent on Monday. Not sure where yet but will post details here once we know.
