Fiskado, Cephalonia

Fiskado is a must see place in the Ionion. It is a very popular village on the northern tip of Cephalonia.
It becomes very crowded so the pilot book suggests you need to get there early which we did. As per Abelike, you must anchor and take lines ashore. Due to the crosswind Maurizio and I set two shore lines.
As with Portofino in Italy there are many mega yachts and the shops seemingly more expensive. This however did not deter the girls. They shopped and shopped, but they came back with less bags...phew!!!
A funny thing happened at around 10:30pm. There was a large yacht anchored not far from us. To get to land when anchoring this way you row your dinghy ashore. These people had a paid crew who dropped them off in the afternoon and one would think that they would return them to the boat also.
Well that night dad, mum and two kids waited on the rocks behind their boat. No crew came so dad tells one of the kids to get a SUP off the yacht and come back to pick them up one at a time.
All good in theory until it came to pick up mum, dressed to the hilt. She was to have no bar of getting on a SUP. We yelled over and asked them if they wanted help. Three times dad said "no, we are OK". Mum was getting moer and more frustrated aso we offered assistance for the forth time. This time she answered, "YES PLEASE, I AM NOT GETTING ON THE BOARD AND BESIDES THERE ARE TOO MANY SEA URCHINS". So with that, we took over Quack Quack and promptly transported her to their yacht. We did not see dad....no doubt copping a serve.
Sabrina and I went for a small hike and checked out an ancient basilica. It was built around 500 AD. It is amazing to appreciate old these places have actually been inhabited....never ceases to amaze us, particularly when you compare that to Australia
