Welcome to our new splendiferous galley!

25 July 2012 | Jacksonville, FL
After 2 weeks living in a motel we are mighty glad to be back home. Even though we visited the boat once or twice a day to talk with the Huckins caprenters or just check on progress, we were blown away when we saw the final product!!

The transformation is astounding and making the decision to use light colors seemingly added space to our tiny galley. Don installed the plumbing, stove, fan and lights to save money and working with (around) the carpenters was a pleasure.

We can't say enough about Jim and Bill. All through the process we would think of small changes, tweaks etc. and without exception they had already thought of the same thing and were taking care of it! I began to think they were mindreaders but actually they are experienced, thoughtful, top-notch craftsman.

We are both so pleased with the results and functionality I think there will be many meals prepared here. Besides we can't afford to eat out again for a looong time! When you live on a boat you don't get to do much 'interior decorating' but this project surely satisfied my need to that and more.

The "extras" they made us are a real joy....a sink cover, a stove cover, a built in Corian condiment rack and a dish soap/hand soap container. As Don says, "it's the small things in life." Don't you agree?
