Captain Biscuits, Sweet!

We are happy to be sitting in Port Villa on a mooring off Yachting World busy replenishing stores and taking care of a few repairs (oil pressure sender and mainsail down haul!) We arrived here two days ago after a fabulous overnight reach from Tanna with ENE winds at about 10-12 knts all the way. BAHATI screamed along on her favorite point of sail at 6-7 knts only needing to fire-up the d-sail as we went thru the lee of Erramango and then as we approached Port Villa when the wond dropped to zilch! No problems with customs or immigration here as we had already cleared-in at Lanekel on Tanna after Betsy and Cam took a long ride across the island in the back of a pickup with pigs, chickens, kava roots and other assorted groceries....plus 9 other passengers! We visited the volcano ("the world's most accessable!") twice and couldn't get enough! Awesome! And we were treated royally by the local villagers who invited us to visit their church and share in a "feast"! We were gifted 3 big "lobsters" after church which we shared with the crew of our Blue Hill friends, Greg, Jonathon, and Justin, on ALPHERATZ...such a treat to see them again and we hope for more connection when we get to Cairns in a month or so. Maine and CCA gams in the So Pacific....sweet as....! We plan to leave here in a few days and head further north up the island chain before crossing the Tasman sometime in early July. More to come and photos posted soon! Thanks for staying in touch via Sailmail or info@bahati.net.
Cheers from Capt B, Mate Betsy, and Cameron
