So the paperwork has been submitted.
Today I completed and submitted the papers for my Coast Guard Captain’s license. Actually this is the list of qualifications that I have applied for.
OPERATOR OF UNINSPECTED PASSENGER VESSEL AS DEFINED IN 46 U.S.c. 2101 (42)(8) UPON INLAND WATERS.,
ORDINARY SEAMAN,
WIPER,
STEWARDS DEPT.
So now I have to wait a few weeks to find out if I get it or not. I was told that my packet looks pretty good. I hope so. I want to take the Sailing Endorsement and the upgrade to Master 100 ton before I leave in May. If I go to the class, I can get the requirements for the upgrade and as a bonus the Towing endorsement. Then I will submit all of them when I get about 70 more days off shore, which should be by the 1st of August this year. I will submit all the upgrades and the offshore time and try for the Near Coastal 100 Ton Masters License with Sailing and Towing Endorsement. I am doing this instead of finishing my Engineering Degree.
Then I will be able to do a little charter work on my boat and pay for some neat boat toys. Or I can deliver a boat to somewhere and make some neat boat toy funds. Options, I like Options…
