2014-02-16 San Blas to Chacala
11 March 2014 | San Blas to Chacala
It was an easy run, sailing only a third of the way and motoring the rest. We got into the bay and anchored with 3 other boats. Anchor set, we went for a swim to shore and a walk along the beach. I lost my sunglasses out of my pocket on the swim in so I was having a bit of an issue seeing with the sun and the focus issue. After a couple of hours, back to the boat we went and had supper. Chacala is a resort town. But it is not the big resort of Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. There is a dirt street with some hotels and such, but it is very small and quaint. Of course the beach is lined with palapa restaurants and bars/Grills. It seems to be the normal around this coastline. I see lots of people from Canada, the US and a lot of Mexicans here at these areas. Many Mexicans probably come for the day and few stay in the hotels. Families and friends abound with the ‘Fu in the Sun’ crowd. Families from babies to grandma and grandpa are out enjoying the beach and the area. It is nice to see this.
