Hanamoenoa Bay, Tahuata an Idyllic Beach and Bay

Just arrived in Hanamoenoa Bay on the island of Tahuata. What a beautiful anchorage and beach. Photos to be posted soon. Providence, an Australian boat we met in Galapagos is here. Other than that just us. Gail and Tony on Cetacea are coming this way in a couple of days but we came ahead this morning. The weather report was off much more than usual this morning. We were supposed to have SE winds at 10 knots, instead we had NW-N winds at 2-5 knots for half the trip. Well, too much motoring, but we made water and got the batteries nicely topped off I guess. We put the spinnaker up at about the half way point. This is the first time it's been up since it was in the ocean during our passage. Needless to say, we had a twist when we pulled the snuffer and had a bit of a time clearing it. But, in the end we had a good downwind run, making about 6-7 knots in 9-10 knots that filled in late morning. Glad we did it on a light air day like today. Got everything in the spinnaker department squared away and now repacked properly.
Gaya is already off snorkeling with the guys from Providence. We found that the boat she thought about catching a ride to Tahiti with left here this morning for another islands. Oh well Gaya, you snooze you lose.
Anyway tomorrow, dinghy in the water and off exploring another beautiful and very different island than the one we just left. In a couple islands, we should be in Nuku Hiva and have good internet and hope to post some photos of what we've seen here.
All is well on North Star, all systems are go and things are looking good.
