The Final Day on the Bay

20 May 2014
Here we are with palm trees again. No, we are not in the Bahamas! We are safely tied up in our slip at our home marina. Herrington Harbour South. Our final destination.

Another Mill Creek

19 May 2014
Late in the afternoon, we arrived at ‘Camp Shields’ on Mill Creek on the Patuxent River. We had a delicious salmon dinner and spent the night at the dock of our Tartan friends, Debby and Greg.

On to Solomons, MD

19 May 2014
This is Mark on Passage, a Passport 47. We sailed together for 5 weeks until Mark sailed into Solomons to pick up his sister on May 19 for a week of sailing. We were the buddy boat for Mark as he sailed singlehanded from West End on Grand Bahama Island to Hampton, VA. Truly an amazing accomplishment by an extraordinary sailor!

Mill Creek

18 May 2014
We got as far as Mill Creek on the Wicomico River, which is another of our favorite anchorages.

Motoring North on the Chesapeake Bay

17 May 2014
We left Hampton Public Piers early to start our trip up the Chesapeake Bay. The weather websites promised winds out of the west, and we were looking forward to a beam reach. Well, the wind was out of the north and there were heavy seas. We only got as far as Fishing Bay on the Piankatank River, which is a lovely spot to anchor.

Time to Celebrate

12 May 2014
After 7 hours of sleep, we motored the boat over to Downtown Hampton Public Piers. We all had great hot showers. The champagne celebration was with our friend Bill, who helped us from Nassau to Hampton.
