On our first boat in 1977 Scott said, "One day I'd like to sail around the world." We now own our 4th boat, a Tripp 47 'Celestial' that we are retiring on.
Something Extra:
Feb 2013. Loved Palmyra, Fanning, just couldn't stay as long as we wanted. We spent a month on the Big Island, November on Maui, December, flew back to Seattle and January enjoyed our Navy Yacht Club Everett members as they ventured to Honolulu for a week's activities. We were glad to see them! Got to see surfers on the North Shore and now enjoying friends who flew in from Mexico; Shirley and Bill.
Sept 2012. Took off for Palmyra. It will be fun to go through the line islands then we will return to Hawaii. Plan to sail to Seattle in 2013.
August 2012. We're BACK! Great wedding, great finished house, sad but nice funeral for a relative. Too short of a time to see everyone but the weather back in Hawaii can't be beat. Listening to the morning doves as I type. I'll add more when we move again.
May 2012 We're leaving the boat in Hawaii so we can attend a wedding and do 'jobs' back in Seattle. We love sailing in Hawaii, our two months here was not enough so we'll come back and continue in August!
Nov 2011 Celestial is hot to trot. Her bottom is clean, her jib is back on, her new Lazy Jacks working when the main is released so we don't have to work as hard. Plan is to leave for Mexico 11/7/11 with Cabo being our first stop if the winds are good. We hope to explore the Sea of Cortez until Mar/Apr then set our sails for Hawaii, Lord willing, then back to the Northwest.
Oct 2011 Returned to our faithful but neglected boat. Even oysters were growing on our bottom but compared to our return to Bluejay in Singapore in 1992 when we had rats greeting us on the boat, this was wonderful.
May 2011 we flew back to Seattle but the goal is to finally tour Mexico beginning Nov 2011. Celestial is on a mooring in San Diego.
Oct 2010 we sailed from Seattle but stayed in California waters until we flew home May 2011.
Aug 2009 we drove from Seattle to Portland, Maine then sailed our 'new' 1996 boat, 'Celestial' home, enjoying our 2010 summer in Seattle.

In 1983 we sailed from Seattle to Hawaii and back on a 29ft Buccaneer 'Polypterus'.
We did a Coastal Run on Polypterus in 1982 and our first boat was a 24 ft Buccaneer 'Norwesterly', 1977 to 1980.
