Today was our last day to visit and we did a little more NASA and some bird-watching. Cindy and Wayne are not birders, but they humored us with a drive around Merritt Island which hosts one of the best bird-watching drives on the east coast. We got their life lists off to a grand start but I'm not sure they realized that it's really not fair to see a shy Sora (drab marsh-bird) on their first bird-watching trip. However, they were good sports and especially enjoyed the alligators and the more spectacular birds like the Roseate Spoonbills. We went back to the KSC Visitor's center for the rest of the afternoon and viewed 3-D movies and experienced a simulated shuttle launch that rivals any amusement park ride,.
