The next day we headed on past Georgetown to Thoroughfare Creek. We managed to completely time it wrong and fought strong opposing current all day. We finally got a break with some wind in the afternoon and were able to get a little boost from the sails. It would have been a spinnaker run, but once again, I had made Jim leave it home in the interest of space. The anchorage is adjacent to a sandy beach which Murphy really enjoys, as do the local teenagers! The beach was hopping with bikini babes, redneck boys and beer. Fortunately they left with the setting sun and we had the place to ourselves. We were lulled to sleep by chuck-wills-widows and a barred owl. Perfect. This morning we are off to Calabash and a visit with Jim's cousins. Tropical Breeze is going to continue slowly along and we will catch them somewhere on the other side of Southport.
