Murphy and Morning Snooze

14 February 2008 | Boot Key Harbor, Marathon
We've been seeing the sights in Marathon. Spent one day walking around Crane Point, the only palm tree mangrove remaining in this part of the Keys. We searched and searched for that darn white-crowned pigeon that we've been looking for over the past several years. Jim saw one, in a cage, at the rehab center in Crane Point and declared victory. I say that doesn't count! However, we enjoyed the walk and since it was dog-friendly, Murphy did as well.
The last two days have been very stormy. We awoke one night to high winds, thunder, and lightening. Neither the cats, Murphy, nor Momma were very happy.
Yesterday we got in a great visit with Jim's cousins, Ed and Lois. We started with a late breakfast at the Stuffed Pig and ended with dinner at Burdine's. We can't afford to stay around here too long. Too many good places to go out and eat. Bad for the boat and the waistline budgets. In between meals, Lois and I did laundry while the guys sat around and talked guy-stuff.
The front has finally gone through and today is cool and sunny. We're going to do a little restocking on the boat and get ready to leave tomorrow for Key West.
